Faux Finishes      Murals      Tarnished Ladies      Our Clients      The Process

Baby's Room - Denim
Here, our client wanted to decorate their baby boy's room. We agreed on a faux finish replicating blue denim fabric for the walls, complete with seams and buttons. The blue denim matched the existing rocking chair, and the color of the stitches in the seams and the buttons match the copper colored threads in the navy blue carpet. Treasure Chest
Here, our client found a great old chest at a garage sale for $10. She thought the chest looked just like a pirate's chest, and would be perfect for her beach house in the Hamptons — either holding extra towels and toiletries in the bath, or by the front door as a catch all for boots and fishing gear, or in the living room for... » Click here to read more.

Dining Room
Here, the client needed something to define the dining area, which opens up on one side to a stairway and foyer, and the living room on the other. The answer was an Italian Plaster finish, with warm and inviting amber tones to pick up the jewel tones in the stained glass decoration.

Living Room
Here, our client wanted something to liven up the living room, which was all white. The focal wall had sliding glass doors that looked out on a pretty view; but when the white vertical blinds were drawn, The wall just became a blah blotch. The choice was a Venetian Plaster finish, with undertones to match the rose tones in the furniture.

Bathroom Door
Here, the client had redone their entire bathroom in Durango Tumbled Marble — leaving them with a white painted door, and white door and window moldings that stuck out like a sore thumb. The client wanted their door to exactly match the walls — so, we created a textured faux finish that matched her Durango Tumbled Marble tiles exactly, both in color and in texture, then finished them off with a water resistant seal.

The client had saved some of the tile molding, and glued it onto the door after we had finished our faux work.

We also glazed the door and window moldings, to blend in with the rest of the bathroom.

Outdoor Set
Here is yet another tag sale bargain one of our clients picked up - but it didn't exactly look like the Martha Stewart porch set they originally wanted. Still, this severely weathered set was such a bargain, our client just couldn't resist! So, we sanded out all the rough edges and splinters, bleached and cleaned the weathered wood, reinforced the set where necessary and sanded to a smooth finish again. Then, we chose muted but colorful tones for the set: we chose white for the backs, since the shape of the backs is reminiscent of a white picket fence, and fresh spring grass greens, sky blues, and a bird's eggshell sand colors to finish off this piece. For a touch of rustic charm, the stained finish was ever so slightly kissed with distressing around the edges - and then the whole set was securely finished off with a sturdy protective finish.

Dining Set
Here, our client wanted a French Country look for the dining area of the new home they were moving into — but did not want to part with the dining room set that had been passed down to them from a favorite relative.

Since the dark dining room set had the same kind of lines and style as the French Country look, the answer was to refinish and re-upholster for a brighter bit of Provence!
